Who we are
This website is operated by STS Technology Solutions, Inc. (“STS,” “we” or “us”), a company based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you send us a message through our contact form, we collect the information you choose to give us:
- your name and email address;
- optionally, your phone number and company name;
- the service you're interested in and the message you write.
Like most websites, ours keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or rent personal information.
Our website is delivered through Cloudflare, which also gives us visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). These tell us, in total, which pages were viewed, which sites or searches led to them, and visitors' browser, device type and country. They don't use cookies or similar tracking, and they don't tell us who you are.
How we use it
We use the information you submit only to:
- respond to your inquiry and arrange a consultation;
- prepare a proposal if you ask for one;
- keep a record of our correspondence with you.
We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing email without your permission.
Where it's stored and who can see it
Contact form submissions are sent through Postmark, an email delivery service, to our business email account, which is provided by Google (Google Workspace). Postmark and Google may store this data outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. Only the people at STS who need it to respond to you can see it.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond and maintain a business relationship with you, and generally no longer than two years after our last contact, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to our use of it, at any time. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information you send us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date above.
